Catalysts: Bodleian Commission | Closing on 8 May

We’re delighted to announce an exciting new commission in collaboration with British Journal of Photography and the Bodleian Libraries at the University of Oxford . Three selected photographic artists will receive a grant to create new portraiture work that will become part of the Bodleian Libraries’ permanent collection.

This commission, opening on 8 April 2025, aims to diversify the portrait collection by commissioning new works that reflect the breadth and real-world impact of Oxford University research.

Portrait of Britain| Opening May

Portrait of Britain, culminating in the UK’s biggest photography exhibition, opens for entries at the end of May.

This prestigious award invites us to reflect on the multiplicity of voices and stories across the UK, forming a powerful contemporary portrait of British life. The 100 winning portraits will be exhibited in a month-long digital exhibition in partnership with JCDecaux. Plus a hardback book featuring the 200 shortlisted images will be published by Bluecoat Press.
